Clear little noses before feeds and sleep
A blocked nose can make feeding and settling harder. Saline Nose Spray moistens dry nasal passages and relieves congestion. It’s non-medicated, with no alcohol or pseudoephedrine, and safe from birth.
Go gently with the aspirator
Take it slowly and only use it at the opening of the nostril, never further in. Ours has a soft, flexible tip designed to fit baby’s nostrils.
Back to sleep, every sleep
Lay baby down on their back on a firm, flat mattress, with no pillows, bumpers or soft toys in the cot. Even with a stuffy nose, don’t prop baby up with pillows. Your clinic sister can talk you through safe sleep.
Did you know?
Keep the room comfortable
Not too warm and not stuffy. Dress baby in light layers rather than piling on blankets, and keep the cot away from heaters. On summer nights, a net over the cot helps keep mozzies away, and our Mozzie Stick is safe to use from birth.
Keep bedtime calm and simple
A warm bath, a feed, a dim room and the same soft words each night. Bath Drops are ideal for a gentle massage, too. Doing the same few things in the same order can help baby know sleep is on its way.
Trust your instincts
If baby is struggling to breathe, isn’t feeding, has a fever, or you’re simply worried, don’t wait: see your clinic or doctor straight away.
Always check with your clinic sister, midwife or doctor if you’re worried.
